Kirsty Glen
Manager and Employment Consultant

Kirsty has Diplomas in Nursing and Homeopathy, and a National Certificate in Embalming.  Her background also includes advocacy and recruitment. Kirsty has worked at WORKSTAR both as an Employment Consultant and Manager for over 7 years.

Roy Myers 
Employment Consultant

Roy has a Diploma and extensive experience in Rehabilitation Studies in Visual Impairment.  He also has a Diploma in Career Guidance, and is currently working toward a Certificate in Adult Education.Roy joined WORKSTAR in 2008.




Kim Holmes  
Employment Consultant 

Kim is a trained secondary school teacher and an experienced youth worker, with extensive contacts in the Nelson region. Kim joined WORKSTAR in 2011.

Rob  McConnachie
Employment Consultant

Rob has a Diploma in Business, and qualifications in Management and Training. Rob has extensive employer contacts in the Nelson region. Rob joined WORKSTAR in 2011.




Gwen Bezett
Administration and Accounts

Gwen has spent the past 18 years as sole charge administrator for different businesses. She studied at NMIT, Nelson, learning different office processes. Gwen has worked for the trust since 2011.

Andrea is Workstars loyal cleaner and office support.

John Jackson
Chairperson
John is a business consultant and has assisted small and large businesses with strategic projects in Australia and New Zealand since moving to New Zealand in 1999. He has experience in the food, banking, electricity, tourism and property industries and his professional skills cover: 
      ICT implementation covering the entire system development life cycle.
      Business process evaluation, design and implementation.
      Business modelling and planning.
      Project management.
John originates from London and left in 1986 to work in San Francisco and later, Hong Kong. He is married with two adult daughters.

Sharon Johnston
Trustee
Sharon has extensive experience in learning and development, organisational development and outplacement.  She worked in the consulting industry in Sydney for 17 years specialising in the areas of career and transitional management and organisational change. She holds a Masters in Adult Education. 

Margot Harkness
Treasurer
Margot is a solicitor practising in Stoke. She has practiced in both Auckland and Nelson and has a broad range of legal knowledge including family law, trusts and estate planning, estate administration and company law. 

Mike Stevens
Trustee

Mike was born and raised in the Nelson area and in 2005 returned after many years away. Mike worked for Massey University in Applied Technology and Science and more recently has been involved in function and event organisation. Since 1993 Mike has lived with poor partial vision and can empathise with many of WORKSTAR's clients facing perceived barriers to employment.

Ann Stocker
Trustee

Ann has lived most of her life in Nelson and during her working life has worked with Insurance Companies, Retail and more recently in Finance and is now semi-retired.  Ann’s involvement with WORKSTAR came about with her son Greg who has a disability and has benefited from the WORKSTAR services.  Ann brings a parent’s perspective to the Board.
